The upcoming requirements included are broad in scope and may impact a wide range of activities, including:
- Working with population-level datasets on people, even if publicly available or de-identified.
- Working with anonymous customer data or de-identified health records.
- Collecting information or feedback from people through surveys, interviews, focus groups or other direct interactions.
- Working with anonymized human samples or genomic data.
- Creating AI models using training data sourced from people, such as social media data, customer data, health records, or images/video of the general public.
To ensure you have the information and support needed to navigate these changes, RCO will host three town halls, each covering the same core information but tailored to specific types of activities. Please attend the session theme that best meets your typical research activities.
RCO’s goal is to work collaboratively with you to ensure a smooth transition, offering supportive, streamlined processes to minimize road bumps while upholding our commitment to scientific integrity, stewardship, and respect for the individuals who make our research possible.
