On Wednesday, the fun continues as the Security and Emergency Services Divisions host a demonstration of fire extinguishers at the Building 91 food trucks from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Come and spin the famous prize wheel while the prizes last.  Apparently, the socks are a hot item!

And on Thursday at noon, the learning continues when the Lab’s August Harless, Hazards Analyst, and Ian De Vries, Fire Prevention Engineer, discuss the wildfire modeling used to predict the spread of a wildfire outside the Lab’s boundaries, and what that means for your safety.  The session will also outline the Lab’s plan for evacuating personnel in the event of a wildfire, and if that is not an option, how people will be directed to one of the Lab’s 12 Wildfire Temporary Refuge Building locations.

The session will be hybrid, held on Zoom and in Building 90, room 1144. At the end of the session, those attending either virtually or in person will be entered to win the Safety Sweepstakes. Must be present to win online or in-person. Last week a specially prepared go bag was awarded to Charlotta Chan.
