First impressions matter, and consistent, accurate branding is one of the simplest and most powerful ways we can project the Lab’s identity, credibility, and professionalism to the audiences we serve.
As a Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratory, the Lab is part of a broader scientific enterprise, and our materials are expected to reflect that. Whether presenting to a program sponsor, collaborating with external and internal partners, or sharing results at a conference, using the correct logos and brand elements ensures that the Lab is recognized as a trusted leader.
“Consistent branding is one of the easiest and most effective ways to communicate to our audiences and stakeholders that the information contained is approved and backed by our institution,” said Cait Youngquist, the Lab’s brand manager. “As a highly-regarded organization with an excellent reputation, our brand is the visual marker of that trust.”
Using the correct logos in your presentations, documents, and other materials is an easy way to reflect the Lab’s high standards. The links below provide a convenient way to get the approved branding materials.

Have these changed in the past few months?
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the timing of logo changes, Nick. It’s our understanding that some DOE logos in particular have changed recently in subtle ways. Best practice is to double-check all of your materials and ensure logos are current.
Will someone in Strat Comm be updating the Google slide templates with the new DOE logo?
