Researchers interested in research leading to climate action can attend a University of California webinar on Monday, Oct. 17, at noon. The webinar will address the “UC Climate Action Research Initiative,” funded by the State of California, which will seek proposals on critical climate action research. This opportunity will aim to address key state priorities and will invite proposals that lead to rapid, translational, and applied research outcomes.

Due to a cap on indirect costs that can be assessed on these projects, the Lab cannot receive funds directly, but Lab researchers can explore how to be involved through collaborations, or through campus appointments.

California has allocated $100 million to UC to fund climate action research projects that address critical state needs. The UC Office of Research and Innovation will release RFPs inviting proposals spanning the full range of disciplines and cross-disciplines that lead to rapid, translational, and applied research outcomes. Proposals are expected to address key state priorities, leverage UC expertise and resources, and engage partners in communities, industry, academia, and state and local agencies.

Frequently asked questions and a webinar replay will be available later this month.
