Your involvement with BPEP will be a great opportunity to engage in entrepreneurship education, expand your network, and help manage the direction of a vibrant program. The experience and exposure of working in a large research university like UC Berkeley provide leadership skills that will help strengthen and diversify your career trajectory. Former BPEP members can attest that they were provided with opportunities that have helped them establish startups or gain admission into one.  As a bonus, BPEP board members are given preference when applying for the Berkeley Postdoctoral Association Career and Professional Development Travel Grant.

“Idea to Funding” Working Series:

This is a monthly workshop series where we invite speakers to educate our constituents about startups. We are recruiting six postdocs/visiting scholars (must be VSPA affiliates) to help organize this workshop series. The responsibilities of the executive board members typically include the following:

– Participate in bi-monthly, one-hour meetings to help plan, promote, and organize workshops and special events.
– Help manage the BPEP website, social media and mailing list with the help of VSPA Program support staff
– Promote BPEP’s mission and goals with potential industry sponsors and entrepreneurship-promoting   organizations.
– Identify, interface and coordinate speakers for special events and symposia.
– Connect aspiring VSPA affiliates with appropriate startup resources.
– Partner with others in the UC Berkeley entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Please fill in the application form. You can reach out to Naresh Sunkara, Executive Director for BPEP with any questions at naresh@berkeley.edu.
