Fire weather can happen any time of the year. Are you prepared?  Most households are not ready. Things that appear to be more urgent get in the way.  But being prepared for a fast-moving fire is not something to put on hold.

Here are some quick tips to get started:

  • Make a household fire weather plan.
  • Know what to pack.
  • Prepare Go Bags for every member of the family (including pets).
  • Talk and plan with your neighbors. Include those who may be away during the day or may not have transportation out of the area.
  • If you are told to evacuate, don’t wait. Go

The City of Berkeley is sponsoring several sessions to help you get ready.  You are welcome to attend even if you don’t live in Berkeley.
