The Terms and Conditions of Employment policy is being revised to align with two main developments.
- The Lab is joining UC in implementing a confidential misconduct disclosure process that will require final job candidates to disclose certain types of past misconduct. Berkeley Lab’s participation in this process supports UC’s commitment to maintaining, building, and supporting an inclusive, healthy, and safe working environment. - As a DOE federal contractor, the Lab is required to comply with DOE requirements surrounding an individual’s Lab appointment and continued access, including being able to pass applicable background checks and DOE standards for foreign national access. The Terms and Conditions of Employment policy is being updated to emphasize these requirements which may impact an individual’s appointment eligibility, or employment and continued access.
Employees may view a draft revision of the policy and provide comments on this Google form. The employee comment period ends on May 22, 2026.
