The Lab has published its updated draft Long-Range Development Plan (LRDP) (download to read), which provides a framework for the Lab’s development over the next 20 years. The current LRDP covers development through 2025, and this plan, when approved, will replace it.
The plan includes projections for campus population, building space, parking, and land use through 2045. To assess the potential environmental impacts associated with LRDP development, the Lab has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The UC Regents will review and consider approval of the 2025 LRDP and its accompanying Final EIR later in the year. Additional information on the overall LRDP and EIR processes can be found on the project’s webpage.
During the public review period, written public comments on the LRDP Draft EIR will be collected from April 1 to May 31. Oral comments will be received at a virtual public meeting on Tuesday, May 13, at 5 p.m. Lab staff are invited to attend; registration is required.
