Hear from international experts in pioneering research in global sustainability at the UN Science Summit on Monday, Sept. 23. Representatives from six national laboratories will speak on a panel entitled ‘Advancing Global Sustainability Through Pioneering Research.’ The panel includes Pouya Vahmani, an Urban Environmental Scientist in the Climate and Ecosystem Sciences Division of the Earth and Environmental Sciences Area, who will present at noon PT on scientific solutions for protecting communities from heat waves caused by climate change.
Other topics range from next-gen X-ray light sources to climate partnerships and fusion energy breakthroughs to understand how cutting-edge science is accelerating progress toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
