Those entering the Lab’s hill site by automobile or motorcycle at all hours, including evenings and weekends, must display a valid Lab parking permit. Entering by swiping only your badge will no longer be allowed beginning Jan. 3. When you obtain a permit, you will also register your vehicle. It is essential to identify the vehicle’s owner in case of emergency. Last winter, for example, several cars were damaged by falling trees.
If you do not already have a parking permit, make an appointment at the badge office to obtain a permit consistent with your parking eligibility. To assist those who work off-shift, the badge office will have appointments from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning Nov. 15. It will be open regular hours, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. If you have a unique situation, contact the Badge Office at 1-510-486-4551 or email siteaccess@lbl.gov.
Off-hours parking is allowed in general parking spaces after 3 p.m. on weekdays until 6 a.m. and all hours on the weekends.
