The Projects & Infrastructure Modernization Division (PIMD) has begun rebuilding and reinforcing several deteriorated retaining walls around the Lab. This critical construction project will prevent potential landslides and enhance pedestrian safety.

The first phase of construction will occur at three different sites around the Lab, with each site affecting different traffic patterns and pedestrian walkways. See below for expected dates and impacts.

Site 1: May – July

  • Approximate dates: May 13 – August 11
  • Parking impacts: Four parking spots will be decommissioned
  • Lane impacts: Chamberlain Road will be affected

  • Approximate dates: May 19 – August 11
  • Parking impact: Parking spots highlighted in the image below will be decommissioned
  • Lane impacts: McMillan Road will be affected
  • Pedestrian impacts: There will be a detour on McMillan Road

Site 3: June – October

  • Approximate dates: June 9 – October 22
  • Parking impact: Nine parking spots will be decommissioned
  • Lane impacts: Smoot Road will be affected
  • Pedestrian impacts: There will be a detour on Smoot Road
