Similar to flexible spending accounts for health, you choose a set amount up to $315 a month (that limit goes up to $325 in 2025) and WageWorks deducts that portion from your Lab paycheck. Those pretax dollars can be used to pay for commuting expenses, making your hard-earned salary work even harder for you.

To sign up, visit the Employee Registration website and follow the prompts to complete your registration. On the registration page, use the last four digits of your Lab employee number as your  “ID code.” Open enrollment is going on now and is a great time to evaluate commuter benefits and other pre-tax contribution accounts.

If you run into issues during the registration process or have questions, contact the Lab’s Benefits Office at benefits@lbl.gov. Review the Frequently Ask Questions on the Health Equity website for more information.
