The United Auto Workers (UAW), the union representing Postdocs (PX) and Graduate Student Researchers (BR) bargaining units within the University of California system, including those at the Lab, have voted to strike beginning Nov. 14 at 8 a.m., if they are unable to reach an agreement. UAW, on behalf of their bargaining unit members, issued the system-wide strike notice on Friday, November 4. There are 516 postdocs and 276 GSRAs at the Lab.

The Lab has activated its contingency plan. In addition, the Lab’s Critical Incident Management Group (CIMG) will be activated to monitor operational issues at Lab sites. This may include changes at the Lab gates and changes to the shuttle schedule.
