1. Understand the scope of each project/activity that you are assigned, and make sure that you charge your time to those activities based on the scope of work you performed.  Individual budget plans are to be used as guidelines only.  If you are unsure of the appropriate code to charge, consult with your supervisor or resource analyst.
  2. Record your time as frequently as necessary to ensure accuracy.  For staff who charge multiple projects with different funding sources, it is recommended that you fill out your timecard as you charge different projects.
  3. Certify that the hours you record in LETS accurately reflect the effort you have spent on the projects/activities, as well as any leave you have taken, before the timecard sweep deadline.
  4. Make timely corrections when necessary. If you had to estimate time at the end of the month and ultimately worked on something else or took leave, make sure to correct your timecard promptly. Talk to your timekeeper for assistance.
  5. For supervisors and work leads, approve your assigned employees’ time entries prior to the timecard sweep deadline. If your employee has a separate work lead, remember to consult with them as needed.
