Election as an APS Fellow recognizes advances in physics through original research and publication or innovative contributions in the application of physics.

Leitner is a senior scientist in the Engineering Division and division deputy. She is recognized for her work on electron cyclotron resonance ion sources that are widely used as high-charge state ion injectors for heavy ion facilities. She is currently working as the Lead for the Removal & Installation area for the ALS-U Project.

Altman is a faculty scientist in the Materials Sciences Division. He was recognized for his contributions to the theoretical understanding of the equilibrium and non-equilibrium of many-atom and many-electron systems.
