10 Minutes Could Be a Lifesaver
On Wednesday, June 24, the Lab will hold an emergency exercise. And you play a key role.
As part of the exercise, everyone on site that day will receive a LabAlert at approximately 9:15 a.m. with the steps you should take. Please take part in this exercise. It will take approximately 10 minutes, and you’ll be better prepared for a real emergency.
Several colleagues from the Lab’s Security and Emergency Services Division will discuss the Lab’s wildfire preparedness efforts, covering the Lab’s wildfire planning and mitigation measures, what Wildfire Temporary Refuge Buildings (WTRBs) are, and when they may be used, and review the procedures designed to help protect personnel during a wildfire emergency.
You can join in person in B33, room 106, or on Zoom. Add to your calendar.
Then learn more on the same day at the Building 91 food truck area from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The WTRB bright orange emergency cabinet and its contents will be on display, along with information on the use of N95 respirators in an emergency involving wildfire smoke.
