I don’t have or want a smartphone. I do have a YubiKey I now use for 2FA. Do I need to get another device to use passkeys? What about logging
in from different devices, including ones not at LBNL?
Thank you for your inquiry, Matthew. We checked with the Cyber Security team and they say you do not need another device to use passkeys if your YubiKey supports FIDO2, which many modern YubiKeys do. You can use passkeys to authenticate on multiple devices, including those outside LBNL, as long as the login system supports external security keys.

That’s it? Where is the article providing details:
1. What is a pass key?
2. How do I get one?
3. Etc.
