The family of the late MSD Senior Scientist and UC Berkeley professor Wladek Walukiewicz has dedicated a bench in front of Building 2 in his memory. Dr. Walukiewicz, who had a long career at the Lab, was known for his work developing universal models of defect behavior in semiconductors.

Family, friends, and co-workers of Dr. Walukiewicz attended the dedication event. You can read more about Dr. Walukiewicz and his contributions to the scientific community. Berkeley Lab Foundation served as the recipient of the donations that funded the bench.

    Very nice there’s now a memorial at the Lawrence Berkeley Lab for professor Wladek Walukiewicz, who I will always remember as a very friendly and smart host during my post-doc in 2009-2010.
