The exit lane gate at Blackberry Gate is now pulled into the closed position beginning at 9 p.m. to improve safety at the Lab. Several drivers not associated with the Lab have recently attempted to enter through the exit lane at night. Vehicles should be prepared to make a stop at the exit while security personnel open the gate.  Security has added additional stop sign reflectors on the gate and has installed an orange electronic sign board to remind people of the change. The exit gate returns to an open position at 5 a.m.

Blackberry Gate is open 24-hours a day, seven days a week, for entry and exit of vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians. Strawberry Gate is open for entry and exit from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Grizzly Gate is open for vehicle entry in the morning from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. The Grizzly Gate exit is always available for vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles leaving the Lab.
