Nearly 1,200 Berkeley Lab folks turned the Lab’s campus into a festival of fitness at last week’s annual Runaround. The 47th annual event saw lab coats traded for running shoes as employees tackled the scenic 1.65-mile course on Friday, October 11.

Some sprinted and others strolled, and some rode bicycles through the winding hill campus route, before collecting t-shirts and snacks at the Finish Line Festival at Building 90. Meanwhile, zen seekers found their peace in yoga sessions at Building 90 and 717 Potter Street.

Not to be outdone, virtual participants got creative with their fitness – from backyard hula-hoop to plank challenges that would make any personal trainer proud.

      Hi Eduardo,

I’m sorry to hear that. We have a limited number of t-shirts, and they are meant for those who participated in the event in person or virtually. If you were able to exercise on your own that day it would count as virtual participation. If you did, please send me an email at sbudd@lbl.gov.

      Thanks,
      Suzanne
